I help neurodivergent people managers go from being "just another boss" to becoming the leader their team wants to follow.

I'm putting all the answers to all the questions I can think of here, because I want to be as honest and ethical as possible.

And because I would want to know all of this upfront, before booking anything.

I don't even have your information yet.

No stress! No harassment! Just info and invitation!

What are the Coaching options?

Adding this upfront to be totally transparent and ethical.

I'm not here to sell you anything you don't need.

My Leadership Coaching Story

Why Would You Want Me to Coach You?

I was actually doing Leadership Coaching before I knew what coaching was.

In my last job, I started as a volunteer for six years, before being hired on part-time, quickly advancing to full-time, and eventually working my way up to the #2 position in the entire organization (I didn't want to move higher, because that job did not appeal to me at all). I worked there as a paid employee for a decade.

I started doing the "coaching" part of my job after a traumatic event happened in our community, and it was clear that our team and the people we served needed more understanding, less pushing. This was the beginning of my transformational leadership journey, and my own understanding that, as leaders, having concern for the whole person builds trust and loyalty.

Focus on the Mission and Be Kind

After a couple years, a local university asked me to be a field instructor for their social work students. And about a year after that, I had built up enough of a reputation in the broader community that I became a mentor to leaders in other organizations who were struggling with retaining talented people on their teams.

None of my foray into coaching was actually part of my job description, just something that was clearly needed at that time. I also didn't know I was autistic during all of this, and looking back, I can see how much I was masking in some situations, and how much my hard-earned observational skills played into building an intuition that helped me become the leader I am.

I ultimately left that job because of how badly the "leadership" failed me (it was dramatic), and continues to fail its team and mission in my absence, at an organization that prided itself on its leadership development. That pretty much broke my autistic brain. I stepped away for a bit and watched as the boss made mistake after mistake, and blamed me, as I was not there to fix it or cover for him anymore.

I have experience in working my way to leadership positions, building my dream team, handling the pressures of being the middle person between the big boss and the people we serve, mentoring other leaders and future leaders, and a whole mess of other stuff.

CERTIFIED COACH

I have been officially certified in Coaching Essentials by the Mindset Coach Academy. This certification allows me to join the ranks of Accredited Coaches, Counselors, Psychotherapists, and Hypnotherapists, as well as the International Coaching Federation, as a member.

Certification is not a requirement for coaching, and I've done it for 10+ years in my previous career (as a necessity, not as my part of my job description), but I did the certification to be sure I was using the most ethical and up-to-date tools to help you out as much as possible.

Senior Member of ACCPH

My Coaching Manifesto & Code of Ethics

My Coaching Manifesto

These are my own personal rules regarding my coaching boundaries, ethics, and how I will conduct myself. Being transparent in this way is one way I hold myself accountable to my behavior in our coaching sessions, and in our professional relationship.

Code of Ethics

Being ethical is one of my core values. I have been badly burned by unethical leadership in the past, and the whole point of my starting this business is to help other people not fall into that trap.

Those of us on the spectrum often have a harder time processing unethical practices, so I want to be upfront about the codes I follow, so you can decide if we mesh! Click below to see the Codes of Ethics and Conduct I follow from the International Coaching Federation, as well as the Accredited Counsellors, Coaches, Psychotherapists, Hypnotherapists.

Rescheduling: You can reschedule, in writing, (email

[email protected]) anytime leading up to the scheduled meeting time, with no penalties. You will also receive reminder emails leading up to each coaching session, with a link to reschedule inside. If the meeting time starts, and you are unavailable and have not rescheduled, you will forfeit that session. (If you are just late, please join as soon as you can! We will use what time is left in your session!)

Late to Sessions:
If you know you are going to be late to a scheduled Zoom session, please send an email to [email protected] (as a courtesy). I have to time blindness, too, so I try to have grace. For the most part, being late cuts into the time that YOU paid for. I likely won't be able to stay in the session longer to make up for it, as I have my own schedule to keep.

Cancellations/Refunds:
You can request a refund up to 1 business day before the start of our first scheduled coaching session by emailing me at [email protected], or using the link in your reminder emails. There is a 10% nonrefundable deposit to reserve your spot.

Coaching Policies

Here's a quick rundown of the relevant policies included in my coaching contracts. No surprises!

Boundaries: One thing that helped me become the leader that others want to follow was that I consciously implemented boundaries for myself and respected them for others. As a form of setting an example for my clients, I also maintain boundaries in my coaching business. These include:

-Limiting work communications to work hours (typically 10 am-5 pm Pacific time, Mon-Fri).

-Limiting work communications outside of our scheduled sessions to email only.

-Maintaining a professional relationship with clients by not following their personal social media accounts, nor accepting requests to follow my personal accounts.

-Limiting sessions to the scheduled length of time, to respect everyone's time.

How will you protect my privacy?

What is Voxer?

Voxer is a FREE app/website where you can send voice messages and text messages (also free!). It also comes with an element of anonymity because you don't need to share your phone number with people to chat. You just need their handle!

So, if you choose to use the Voxer Leaderline option, after you purchase, you will be provided with my handle to look out for!

You can start your free individual account and create your handle at www.voxer.com

What does this process look like?

Step 1: Book a Clarity Chat. This is a low pressure chance for you to clarify any other questions you might have, and a chance for us to determine if we're a good fit, and if you actually need/want/are ready for coaching.

Step 2: Keep an eye out for emails from "[email protected]" or "[email protected]"

Step 3: Attend your Clarity Chat. If we do decide to move forward together, you can confirm which coaching package you prefer, and I'll send you a follow up email with next steps.

Step 4: Sign Contracts. One is the contract to protect us both in our coaching relationship. The other is a contract with yourself, to commit to doing the necessary work.

Step 5: Book your first coaching session, pay, and answer a questionnaire.

Step 6: Receive a welcome email from me, with reminders of info from here, a copy of your signed contracts, date and time of your first session, and your first task (it's pretty easy, I promise!)

Step 7: Receive reminder emails! Sorry, not trying to spam! I just know that my time blindness has appreciated it in the past!

Step 8: Attend your session! Be ready to have your story heard, answer questions, and set and work toward your goals!

Step 9: Receive a follow-up email to book the next coaching session, and repeat. :-)

Step 10: At the end of 12 sessions, you will receive an email requesting a testimonial, and with a chance to purchase another package.

I’m an introvert. Will this be too intensive for me?

Absolutely not - I'm right there with you! Coaching you may actually be one of my few chances to talk to an adult without my kid constantly interrupting us all day!

If you feel like my energy is too high, please let me know. It's literally just excitement at seeing you, and I understand much better when told directly (as many of us do). I promise not to be offending if you feel my energy is overwhelming.
